Amity Point is a quiet seaside village, popular
for boating and fishing because of it's jetty and boat ramp.
The pelicans here are friendly, and dolphins can often be
seen playing just off shore.
Sunset at Amity Point is a spectacular sight,
with views across Moreton Bay. Calm waters and a relaxed atmosphere
make this an ideal holiday destination for families and water
enthusiasts.
Point Lookout is at the north-east tip of
the island boasting spectacular headlands and excellent surf
beaches. There are many restaurant and cafes, and, of course,
local seafood is a speciality.
Cylinder Beach is popular for families and surfers
alike. Located between Cylinder and Home Beach headlands,
its waves are often smaller. Main Beach can provide
large swells and is popular for surfing and fishing.
Stretching for 32 km, there are many places to find your own
secluded camp site.
The North Gorge Headlands walk offers spectacular
views, from the rocky outcrops to 32 kms of white sandy beach.
There's a photo opportunity at every turn. It's ideal
for viewing Straddie's marine life in the crystal clear ocean.
Visit Whale Rock - in the right conditions,
air whistles through a blow hole, sounding just like a spouting
whale.
