Our most popular sea kayaking tour hits
the water at Cylinder Beach, Point Lookout on beautiful North
Stradbroke Island.
Our two-person kayaks are very stable
- the kind you sit on, not in. After an instruction
session on the beach, it's time to paddle out through the
surf and explore the waters off Straddie.
We stop at Shag Rock for a snorkel around this off shore rock
formation - a great way to see some of Straddie's incredible
marine life.
Climb back into your kayak and paddle back towards
the beach. Finish the tour with a play in the surf - catch a
wave for a thrilling ride. Naturally, our tours depend on weather
and ocean conditions.
At times, we may choose alternate destinations
from Point Lookout: Manta Bommie - named after the magnificent
Manta Rays that visit these waters in summer.
Whale Rock - water whistles through its blowhole, sounding
just like a spouting whale. The Cathedrals - a cave system in the headlands of Point
Lookout
If ocean conditions are unsuitable, we may run a tour from
Amity Point, a small seaside fishing village, popular for
fishing, swimming and snorkelling. The pelicans here a friendly
and dolphins often play just offshore.
